Dytran is a solver that is best suited for short duration, non-linear events with or without fluid-structure interaction. Some example problems that Dytran has been used for are crash simulations, blast simulations and drop tests. But don't let this limit your imagination Dytran is a highly capable non-linear explicit solver that can take into account geometric and material non-linearity.

Dytran uses Patran as a pre- and post processor, but is also compatible with ParaView for post-processing.
